Kunming International Academy accepts students who are studying English as a Second Language, but students must exhibit sufficient English language. At KIA, ESL students spend a majority of their school day in the general education classroom alongside native English speakers. ESL students are required to complete a full-school curriculum.
ESL students receive support from an experienced ESL staff inside and outside the classroom. The goal of the ESL department at KIA is to create successful English speakers who can succeed in the mainstream classroom.
